The Ibeyi twins have released a new single from their new album, Spell 31, entitled “Lavender & Red Roses”. The song features Brit Award winner Jorja Smith. The lyrics explore that familiar desire to rescue those we love. But they also reveal the deep sense that no matter how much you love someone, you can’t save them without being dragged into their darkness. The collaboration began when Jorja Smith visited the sisters’ studio to listen to the first drafts of Spell 31. The video is directed by Lucrecia Taormina. Ibeyi and Jorja Smith play the three Greek sisters, goddesses of destiny, on a journey through the desert, trying to save a loved one caught in her own darkness.
The album Spell 31 will be available on 6 May.
