Directed by Romain Winkler, “Ta sentinelle” is an excerpt from Jane Birkin’s new album Oh sorry you were sleeping.
12 years after her last album of unreleased tracks, Jane Birkin comes back with a new album of which she wrote all the lyrics. Produced and composed by Etienne Daho and Jean-Louis Piérot.
“Ta Sentinelle” evokes ” years later, the bitterness provoked by a fatal love at first sight. The amorous beginnings however so miraculous, but like a hundred-meter run, it can’t hold the distance…a melancholic and envious look on the lovers, who like us in the past, we used to kiss under the carriage gates, not wasting a second to throw ourselves on each other…the eroticism of the furtive, secret movements, this blessed state and this vision to which nobody remains insensitive. The bitter, precise details: his perfume, his red sweater, the coat… this atrocious absence, staying close to the other to soothe him, without which he cannot find sleep…” explains Jane Birkin.
