Japanese photographer Hideaki Hamada captured with his photo series Haru & Mina the daily life of his sons in Osaka, Japan’s third largest city. What started as a hobby turned into a beautiful photo documentary of two kids growing up. As a viewer you are instantly intrigued by the angle that he chooses. Close enough to see what is happening but still leaving the scenery intact. Hamada states: « I like to shoot from the third person to inarticulate atmospheres ».
Nearly 7% of the total Japanese population live in Osaka. Still, as you follow the boys in their journey of becoming adults, it is hard not to find their ordinary adventures intriguing. Hamada considers his two sons as his biggest inspiration and made these photos as a gift to them in the future.
